BROADCAST TELEVISION / DOCUMENTARY SERIES
Across the Land is a television series featuring uplifting stories of culture and reconciliation in Indigenous communities across Canada. The series aired nationally on YES TV, an exclusively Canadian commercial television station available in 6.8 million homes across Canada.
The Challenge
YES TV approached us to tackle their new television documentary series Across the Land. The task was to take a small collection of stories they had already created in-house, produce additional new content then package everything into six 30-minute episodes with graphic elements, opener, closer, bumpers and host wrap arounds. The catch? The entire series needed to be completed in a little under a month. Challenge Accepted. One of the exclusive stories we produced for the series was with Blackfoot Elder Saa’kokoto at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park in Alberta, Canada.
The Results
Travelling to various locations across Canada our one-man crew kept costs affordable for this rush project, but the production quality remained high gaining attention from Alberta Tourism who asked to take our video to the United Nations World Tourism Associations (UNWTO) 4th World Conference on Tourism and Culture in Kyoto, Japan. Across the Land’s six-episode series was completed on time and on budget, broadcasting coast-to-coast.
For 20 years, we’ve been traveling the globe for YES TV to attain world-class footage, produce independent content and provided freelance production support in studio and on location.
